The Russian people no longer consider the US the most unfriendly country and this position now belongs to Germany, according to a survey by the Levada Center.
The US lost this position for the first time in 13 years, falling to 4th place in the poll released last week.
Only 40% of those surveyed mentioned the US as one of Russia's biggest rivals, down 36% from last year.
The attitude towards the US has changed after the return of US President Donald Trump. Since Mr Trump took office, the White House has made efforts to mediate a diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian conflict, the survey unit noted.
The survey also found that Germany is at the top, with 56% of respondents describing it as the most unfriendly country to Russia, followed by the UK with 49% and Ukraine with 43%.
Before the outbreak of the Ukrainian conflict in February 2022, only 16% of Russia considered Germany a neighboring country, according to data from the Levada Center.
The Levada Center also asked survey participants about countries considered Russia's "closeest friends". Belarus (80%)), China (64%), Kazakhstan (36%), India (32%) and North Korea (30%) are the top 5 countries.
