According to TASS, there are no signs that there will be an immediate continuation of the 3-party contacts. A source said that the meeting brought "some results".
The Russian delegation returned to the hotel after the meeting on January 24, RIA Novosti news agency reported, and shared a video from the scene.
However, a new round of trilateral talks could be held in the United Arab Emirates next week, Axios reporter Barak Ravid wrote on X, citing sources. Ukrainian officials described the 2-day talks as "positive," he added.
Later that day, Barak reported that a US official said the next round of negotiations was scheduled for February 1st.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the next meeting could take place in the UAE in the near future. He said that the discussions focused on "feasible parameters to end the conflict", and welcomed "recognition of the US's need for surveillance and monitoring" to resolve conflicts.
This meeting is the first trilateral meeting since the Ukraine conflict escalated in February 2022. No comments were made immediately from any participating parties after the negotiations ended.
The Russian delegation is led by presidential aide Yury Ushakov and Admiral Igor Kostyukov - the head of the country's military intelligence. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that before the discussion, the delegation would focus on security issues.
All three sides said that territorial issues are still the biggest obstacle to a peace agreement. Moscow has long asked Kiev to withdraw troops from areas previously belonging to Ukraine that have been annexed to Russia that they are still controlling, as well as recognize new borders. However, Ukraine has repeatedly rejected any such concessions.
