The US Embassy said that on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of US-Vietnam relations, the US Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam coordinated with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the US Institute of International Education to announce the International Academic Cooperation Program (IAPP).
Leaders of 21 prestigious universities will participate in the survey from March 31 to April 4 to establish new cooperative relationships and strengthen academic cooperation with Vietnamese partners.
The Higher Education delegation represents prestigious public and private educational institutions in the US in 17 states, including research universities and community colleges.
The delegation will learn about Vietnam's higher education system through school visits, connection events and meetings with stakeholders in the government and the private sector.
More than 30,000 Vietnamese students have studied at US educational institutions in the 2023-2024 school year, contributing more than 1 billion USD to the US economy.
US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper said: In the context of our 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the American university delegation in Vietnam is a testament to the US's implementation of commitments within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Expanding educational cooperation is a key factor for the success of US-Vietnam relations. By connecting leading universities in both countries, we are opening up new opportunities for students and researchers to thrive in both countries.
Mr. Jason czyz, President of the International Education Institute, said that higher education cooperation between the US and Vietnam brings great economic opportunities and mutual benefits. Researchers from the two countries can cooperate in many STEM fields and build training programs to prepare students for the future.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training affirmed that the International Academic Cooperation Program in Vietnam marks a strong step forward in expanding educational cooperation, promoting innovation and enhancing student and lecturer exchanges between the two countries.
