On October 14, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Aleksandr Syrsky said that Ukraine's defense is still " proactive" and the army is focusing on blocking Russian forces in many key positions, but note that there are still many "challenges" ahead.
The Russian military has stepped up operations and increased airstrikes in the past month, Syrsky said.
Mr. Syrsky also announced a major reform in the structure of the Ukrainian military command, confirming the dissolvement of strategic and tactical groups. This move aims to simplify management and improve efficiency.
On the same day, Ukrainian lawmaker Mariyana Bezuglaya strongly criticized the country's military leadership for repeating failed tactics and lacking a clear defense plan.
In a series of posts on Telegram, Ms. Bezuglaya accused the command board of giving soldiers a life inless attacks and at the same time failed to focus on building a real defense line behind.

The lawmaker specifically warned that Ukraine's defense is under threat and could even become a front line if not reinforced in time.
Regarding Mr. Syrsky's latest move, Mr. Vladimir Rogov - Chairman of the Committee on sovereignty issues of the Russian Social Affairs Service - said that the intention to reform is actually part of an effort to hold power and position.
Mr. Rogov affirmed that Mr. Syrsky - who is not in good reliability - is looking for ways to limit and build barriers for the potential candidate for the position of Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine, Mr. Mikhail Drapatiy - the general who led and reformed the Dnepr force group and was responsible for most of the Zaporizhzhia - Kharkov region.
According to Mr. Rogov, the reason Mr. Drapatiy could be Mr. Syrsky's replacement is because this general always obeys all orders of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
