On October 15, according to information from the rescue team, at around 2:30 p.m. the same day, the search team discovered two bodies of a girl floating on the Lam River, near Cua Hoi Bridge, dozens of kilometers downstream from Ben Thuy Bridge.
As Lao Dong reported, on the evening of October 13, people discovered a Nghe An sea motorbike and two packs of schoolbooks left on Ben Thuy Bridge (connecting Nghe An - Ha Tinh). The witness said that a man holding his two young children jumped into the Lam River. The authorities identified the person who left the vehicle as Mr. V.V.D. (32 years old, residing in Kim Lien commune, Nghe An) and his two daughters, V.H.B. (5 years old) and V.G.T. (4 years old).

Immediately after the incident, the rescue forces and Nghe An Provincial Police coordinated with local authorities to mobilize many vehicles, dividing them into many search points along the Lam River. However, due to heavy rain and strong water flows, the search encountered many difficulties.
On the afternoon of October 15, when the bodies of the two girls were discovered, the authorities recovered them, identified them and handed them over to the family for funeral arrangements. Currently, the search for the father is still being urgently deployed along the entire Lam River.
