More than 13,000 soldiers and 132 military vehicles rolled in Red Square on May 7.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu directly commanded the rehearsal on May 7. Mr. Shoigu appeared in the Aurus convertible designed and produced in Russia specifically for parades, and was first introduced in this year's parade.
As usual, the front of the parade is the T-34-85 medium-class tank, a symbol of World War II. The following weapons are all modern weapons, from advanced T14 Armata tanks to armored vehicles equipped with many different weapons.
The T-72 main battle tank - still a typical choice of the Russian tank force - was also present at the rehearsal. Some vehicles of the National Guard also participated in the rehearsal. These vehicles are designed for anti-terrorism and heavy-duty control campaigns, including Ural armored trucks and many MRAP anti- mine and anti-amateur vehicles.
Because the weather in Moscow was quite warm, military aircraft also participated in the rehearsal. Assault and transport helicopters, many types of fighters and even strategic bombers Tu-160 and Tu-95 flew through Red Square.
