On August 12, in Hanoi, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Vietnamese language teaching method training course for overseas Vietnamese teachers. The training course was attended by delegates, lecturers and 50 overseas Vietnamese students from 14 countries and territories.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said that teaching and learning Vietnamese is both a long-term task and a practical work to bring the spirit of Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the work of Vietnamese people abroad into life; contributing to helping the young generation of Vietnamese people abroad understand their roots, nurture feelings for their homeland and country and strengthen solidarity in the community.
In the context of the increasingly diverse generations and language environment of the Vietnamese community abroad, Vietnamese language teaching is facing new requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to improve professional capacity, pedagogical methods, strengthen the application of technology and build a network of Vietnamese teachers abroad.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that each Vietnamese language teacher in the community is not only a language teacher but also contributes to preserving and spreading the cultural, historical, and good tradition values of the nation, thereby introducing the image, country, people, and culture of Vietnam to international friends, strengthening understanding and strengthening friendship between Vietnam and other countries.
Representative of the trainee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, a overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia, shared that after 10 years of teaching Vietnamese to children in the Vietnamese community in Malaysia, this is the first time she has participated in a specialized training course in Vietnam. She expects the training course to provide practical knowledge and skills, helping teachers improve teaching efficiency and nurture the love of Vietnamese in the young generation of overseas Vietnamese.
