On the afternoon of June 29, at the National Assembly House, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received a delegation of Kimhakmin E-roun Institute for Economic Research (Korea) led by Institute Director, Professor Kim Hak-min who is on a visit and working trip to Vietnam.
At the reception, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that Vietnam always considers Korea a top strategic partner in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, culture, defense, security and science and technology.
Currently, Korea has about 9,000 valid investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of more than 80 billion USD. Since the two countries upgraded relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022, Vietnam-Korea relations have developed strongly.
In particular, the State visit to South Korea by General Secretary To Lam (now General Secretary and President) in August 2025 and the State visit to Vietnam by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung in April 2026 are important milestones, affirming the good development of the two countries' relations.
The National Assembly Chairwoman highly appreciated the delegation of Kimhakmin E-roun Institute for Economic Research that during this visit to Vietnam will work with Hanoi National University; visit and work in Can Tho City and Ho Chi Minh City to exchange cooperation in fields such as: innovation, human resource exchange, smart city development, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, environmentally friendly industry...
These are areas that Vietnam is very interested in to contribute to achieving strategic goals by 2030 and 2045.
Sincerely thanking the National Assembly Chairman for taking the time to receive, Professor Kim Hak-min shared some development experiences of Korea; and proposed directions for cooperation between Vietnam and Korea in the field of innovation.
Stating that he has more than 30 years of experience in the field of innovation, Professor Kim Hak-min wishes to contribute experience to support Vietnam's strong development in this field.
He proposed to study piloting an innovation linkage model in 3 regions; and at the same time form 6 ecosystems to make Vietnam an influential innovation nation in the region and in the world.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man assessed that Korea in the past 40 years has risen to become a developed economy based on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; wishing the two sides to continue to expand cooperation and promote innovation in Vietnam.
