Russian opposition leader receives 1 million rubles in hospital fees

The Institute fee for the Russian opposition leader was paid by a Russian businessman.

Russian businessman and CEO of Concord Company - Mr. Evgeny Prigozhin - transferred a payment worth 1 million rubles (13,200 USD) to Charite Hospital in Berlin, Germany, to treat Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, Tass quoted a press release posted by the company on VK.

"The press department of Concord said that Mr. Evgeny Prigozhin transferred 1 million rubles to Charite Hospital for Navalny's treatment," the statement stated.

The statement said the German hospital provided information about the cost and the amount of money that the Russian businessman had just transferred would be given to opposition leader Alexei Navalny for further treatment and a full recovery.

"They should treat him until he fully recovers, and he owes me money," Concord said, citing Prigozhin.

In October 2019, Moscow's arbitration court issued a verdict to confiscate a total of 88 million rubles ($1.1 million) from Alexei Navalny, activist Lubov sobol and the Anti-Corruption Organization, equivalent to 29 million rubles per party, in damages under lawsuit by Moskovsky Shkolnik - a school food supplier. The court ruled in favor of the parties to delete the video about the company that tarnished the company's business reputation.

In August, businessman Prigozhin bought back the debt of opposition leaders Alexei Navalny and sobol and the anti-corruption fund from Moskovsky giaonik.

The Russian opposition leader lost consciousness on August 20 while flying from Tomsk to Moscow. The plane made an emergency landing in the city of Omsk in Siberia. The Russian opposition leader took him to the hospital in a coma and had to use a ventilator.

Alexei Navalny was transferred to a charite hospital based in Berlin, Germany on August 22. In Germany, doctors concluded that there were signs of poisoning for the Russian opposition leader. According to the doctors, the patient's symptoms of poisoning have gradually subsided. On September 7, the hospital said that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny had regained consciousness and reacted to voice stimulus.
