Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway opens to traffic after 8 days of landslide

Đinh Đại |

A landslide has rendered the Noi Bai – Lao Cai expressway interchange (IC18) inoperable and will take many days to repair.

After nearly 8 days of suspension to fix landslides, this afternoon (September 20), the IC18 intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway officially reopened for normal traffic.

Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 3 causing prolonged heavy rain, landslides occurred at Km249+960 to Km250+030 and the road section leading from Lao Cai city to IC18 intersection (in Binh Minh ward, Lao Cai city).

Therefore, the management and operation unit of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway has temporarily suspended the operation of the exit at IC18 intersection to organize repairs.

As of the afternoon of September 20, all intersections on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway (IC16, Pho Lu intersection, IC17, IC18 and IC19) through Lao Cai province have returned to normal operation.
