On September 7 (local time), TASS news agency reported that Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has submitted his resignation, as authorities investigate corruption related to some employees of the Prosecutor General's Office.
I have submitted my resignation from the Prosecutor General," Mr. Kravchenko wrote on his personal Telegram channel, and said this was a political decision.
However, Mr. Kravchenko affirmed that he is not related to the new investigation conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). The case involves employees of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
My views on the allegations remain unchanged," Mr. Kravchenko declared, but did not provide further details about the investigation.
Mr. Kravchenko's resignation took place while Ukraine continued to investigate corruption cases related to prosecution and anti-corruption agencies.
Meanwhile, TASS quoted data from the database of wanted people of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs as saying that Mr. Kravchenko has been returned to Russia's wanted list.
According to this data, Mr. Ruslan Kravchenko has been returned to Russia's wanted list on charges related to a provision in the Russian Penal Code.
Previously, some Ukrainian media outlets reported that Mr. Kravchenko had submitted his resignation. Later, he himself confirmed the information and described it as a political decision.
Mr. Kravchenko has held the position of Prosecutor General of Ukraine since 2025. Previously, he headed the military government of Kiev province.
