RT reported that on April 14, US President Donald Trump once again confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was the one who started the conflict with Russia. This statement was given by Mr. Trump at the Oval Office, in a joint press conference with President El Salvador Nayib Bukele.
Mr. Trump emphasized that understanding the advantages and knowing that it can achieve the goal is the most important thing for any party who wants to launch a war, but not directly to Russia or Ukraine. According to him, the conflict should not be launched with the opponent with superior scale and then just rely on the aid from the Allies.
President Trump also commented that Mr. Zelensky "always tries to buy missiles".
This statement was given just one day after the interview between CBS News and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In the interview on April 13, Mr. Zelensky continued to call on the beauty salon to supplement the air defense system. He said Kiev is willing to buy or hire up to 10 Patriot complexes, with a total cost of about US $ 15 billion, and are asking European allies to financial support for this plan.
CBS News said that Mr. Trump had sought to eliminate Ukraine from peaceful negotiations with Russia and made a number of statements that were thought to be inaccurate in the conflict.
Shortly thereafter, Mr. Trump responded harshly to CBS News, calling the interview as "false" and "fraud" in a post on social network Truth Social.
Earlier, Mr. Trump repeatedly asserted that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine did not escalate if he was the US president instead of Joe Biden.
According to him, the predecessor government spent more than $ 300 billion to support Kiev, and he pledged to "get that money back" by negotiating with Ukraine to exploit mineral resources, and propose to take over its nuclear power plants.
On the Russian side, the Kremlin welcomed efforts for the peace of the Trump administration, but warned that resolving outstanding issues would require time and "a thorough negotiation process".
