South Korean investigators are set to begin a second day of questioning President Yoon Suk Yeol over the martial law order at 2 p.m. on January 16, Yonhap reported, citing the Corruption Investigation Office (CIO).
According to CIO, the questioning session was moved from morning to afternoon after Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol requested a postponement due to health reasons.
However, President Yoon Suk Yeol's representative, lawyer Yun Gap Geun, said his client would not be questioned any further. "President Yoon is not feeling well and has explained his position clearly and fully yesterday, so there is nothing more to question," the lawyer said.
President Yoon Suk Yeol underwent more than 10 hours of questioning at the CIO office in Gwacheon, south of Seoul. "The questioning of President Yoon ended at 9:40 p.m.," the CIO said. According to the CIO, President Yoon Suk Yeol refused to answer questions related to the December 3 martial law declaration.
After the interrogation, President Yoon Suk Yeol was taken to the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, 22 kilometers south of Seoul. He was arrested at the presidential residence at 10:33 a.m. on January 15 and taken to the CIO office the same morning.
