The Central Korean News Agency (KCNA) said on September 9 that the country's Rocket Administration has just conducted the 9th ground test on a rocket engine using high-voltage solid fuel. This engine is made from synthetic carbon fiber and is identified as the final testing step in the development process.
According to KCNA, Mr. Kim Jong-un personally supervised the event and described it as "respectful", emphasizing that the new engine signals a major change in expanding and strengthening North Korea's strategic nuclear forces. The published image shows Kim Jong-un using a conveyor belt to observe the fire released from the engine, along with another photo recording a red sphere of fire lying across the test.
North Korea has conducted many long-range missile test launches over the years, with the possibility of reaching other continents. The country also develops solid fuel missile variants, which are easier to deploy and launch faster than those using liquid fuel.
Meanwhile, Pyongyang has repeatedly affirmed that it will not abandon its nuclear weapons. In August this year, North Korea declared a stance to keep it the same, calling it the reputation and honor of the country.
