Chinese tank models passed through Thien An Mon Square in turn during the parade on September 3 under the witness of many leaders of countries around the world.

A ground attack formation consisting of new-generation tanks and armored vehicles of the People's Liberation Army of China, including Type-100 tanks and Type-100 fighter jets, passed through Thien An Mon Square.

Looking at the exterior, the biggest difference between the new Type 100 tank and previous versions is the modern unmanned artillery tower, which holds the main weapon, seemingly a 105mm artillery, a syncopated machine gun and a remote control weapons deploy, according to China Daily.

Previously, all Chinese tanks had manned artillery towers, inside which were commanders and artillery.

Unmanned artillery towers have some advantages such as space for weapons, ammunition and a wider task load, while allowing the use of more layers of armor on the body of the tank, where the crew is located.

On the top of the fireworks tower, a proactive protection system with four-sided phase radar is also installed.

This Radar is tasked with detecting a 360-degree threat. As soon as an artillery shell, rocket or missile is detected in flight, it will monitor the threat and direct the defense system to proactively fire a mini missile to destroy the target at close range.

In addition, many cameras and sensors are deployed around the fighter jets to detect potential threats.
