The National Space Administration (CNSA) has released a series of images of the new Mars discovered by the Tianjin 1 (Tianwen 1) exploration vehicle and sent New Year greetings to the world on the first day of 2022, CGTN reported.
The rotating ship of the Tianjin 1 mission, operating as a transitional communication satellite, has been operating in Mars' orbit for 526 days.
The spacecraft is located about 3.5 million km from Earth. The delay of communication to Earth from the Mars orbiter is about 19.5 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Zhu Zung Mars rover of China's Mars mission has moved 1,400m on the Martian surface as of December 31, 2021.
The Zhu Zung landed on Mars on May 22, 2020, and is the sixth exploration ship on Mars, after five other US ships.
China's Mars mission has sent back to Earth a total of 560 GB of raw scientific data and all systems are operating normally, according to CNSA.
