The shooting occurred at a high school in northeastern British Columbia province, Canadian police said.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed 10 deaths after a shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. Six people were found dead inside a high school and another dead on their way to the hospital.
Two others were found dead at a house that police believe is related to the incident.
The shooter was confirmed dead on the afternoon of February 10. 2. Police said the suspect was found dead inside the school due to "self-inflicted injury".
Two people were taken to the hospital by helicopter with serious or life-threatening injuries. Police added that 25 others are being examined for injuries at the local medical center.
Tumbler Ridge is located in northeastern British Columbia, south of Chetwynd, about 100km west of the Alberta-British Columbia border.
The provincial government's website lists Tumbler Ridge High School with 175 students from grades 7 to 12.
