In this year's special program, nurses wear masks to dance and sing Broadway music in the East wing of First Lady Jill Biden.
In a video longer than two minutes posted on social media on December 23, nurses in blue outfits can be seen singing "We Need a Little Christmas" while dancing.
The performance appears to be from a special Christmas program filmed earlier this month and broadcast on PBS on December 21. This is the first event since 2016 that no similar programs have been implemented under the administration of former President Donald Trump.
"We Need a Little Christmas" is a song from the 1966, play "Mame" performed by Angela Lansbury.
President Joe Biden does not appear in the clip, but first lady Jill Biden can be seen wearing a pink outfit and not wearing a mask.
Independent journalist Jordan Schachtel said the nurses are employees of Northwell Health, New York's largest healthcare provider with more than 76,000 employees. Northwell laid off 1,400 employees in October and later declared it fully complied with President Joe Biden's vaccine regulations.
