The tournament is organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City University and Vocational Sports Association and the University of Agriculture and Forestry of Ho Chi Minh City.
This is the 3rd year that the student futsal tournament has been organized by region, aiming to build a healthy sports playground, contributing to the development of the futsal movement among young people.
The tournament took place from November 4 to 12, at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry Gymnasium (Linh Xuan Ward), with 12 teams divided into 4 groups, competing in a round-robin to select 8 teams to the quarter-finals.

The participating schools include: People's Security University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, RMIT Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Sports and Physical Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages - Information Technology, Saigon University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University and Swinburne Vietnam Alliance Program University.
VOV Deputy General Director Vu Hai Quang said that the student futsal tournament is not only a sports playground but also an environment to help students practice physical training, team spirit and the will to overcome difficulties.
From areas such as Can Tho, Central Highlands, Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, each season becomes an opportunity to spread the passion for football in the student community, while discovering many talents for Vietnamese futsal.

Associate Professor, Dr. Chau Vinh Huy - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City University and Professional Sports Association, emphasized that futsal is a sport suitable for the school environment because of its speed, technique and high teamwork, which is an opportunity for students to express their mettle and creativity.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tran Dinh Ly - Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry - said that the school has fully prepared facilities for the tournament to take place successfully, thereby creating space for physical training and connecting students from schools in the area.
