5 female players from Son La called up to the national U17 team

    Son La - 5 players of the Son La U16 Women's Football Team were called up to the National U17 Women's Football Team, preparing for the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Championship qualifiers.

    On August 11, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province said that the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has summoned 1 coach and 5 athletes of the Son La U16 Women's Football Team to the National U17 Women's Football Team.

    The convocation is part of the plan to gather the national women's football teams in 2026, in order to prepare forces for international competition missions.

    Training time is from August 15 to October 12. The players will train in Hanoi and Japan, aiming for the U17 Asian Women's Championship qualifiers taking place in October 2026.

    The summoned list includes coach Luong Van Chuyen and 5 players: Nguyen Le Khanh Dan (born 2011), Vu Hoang Ngan Ha (born 2011), Nguyen Thi Thuy (born 2010), Ho Thi Cam Dao (born 2012) and Lu Bao Han (born 2012).

    The summonment of 5 young Son La players to the national team is a recognition of the local youth women's football training work. At the same time, it creates opportunities for athletes to continue training and improving their expertise in a top-level competition environment.
