On April 1, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that it is expected that in April 2025, up to 5 national sports tournaments will be held in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
According to the plan, there were up to 7 sports tournaments planned to be held, however, 1 tournament was temporarily suspended, and 1 tournament was postponed to May 2025. Therefore, there are only 5 sports tournaments taking place in April 2025.
That is the National Strong Teams Kickboxing Championship, expected to be held outdoors in Bai Truoc area, Vung Tau City from April 2, attracting about 380 fighters.
The 4th Southern National Karate Championship in 2025, scheduled to take place at the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Gymnasium (Vung Tau City) from April 4, attracted about 250 fighters.
Then there is the National Sambo Club Championship with about 150 athletes participating; The National individuals Football Championship attracts about 200 athletes participating. Notably, the National Billiard & Snooker Championship round 1 is expected to attract about 1,000 players to participate.
Previously, in March 2025, Ba Ria - Vung Tau coordinated with the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports, Sports Federations to successfully organize 7 national championships; along with the 15th Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Sports event in 2025, competing in the Biwase Cup.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, many sports tournaments are held in the area to celebrate major holidays of the year; commemorate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day on March 27.
Through tournaments, sports events are also an opportunity for local athletes to compete, check their training level... At the same time, contributing to promoting the image and tourism potential of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the hospitality and friendliness of local people, as well as the ability and professionalism in organizing high-performance sports tournaments in the locality.
