The Nou Camp team is looking for players to strengthen the attack in the context of Messi being unable to carry the burden continuously, while Suarez is showing signs of slowing down, especially in the Champions League.
Anthony Martial is a target. The French striker is currently not playing regularly for Manchester United. £60 million is a figure Barca has put up for negotiation to break the deals Martial is in talks with M.U.
Speaking about the deal between the two sides, Martial is being put in an uncertain situation at Old Trafford. Last week, along with Rashford, Martial was indirectly pushed out of the No. 1 striker position by coach Jose Mourinho (currently M.U has used many pairs of Sanchez - Lukaku).
The "special" believes that the team has a lot of people and he does not always have to prioritize Martial or Rashford.
Along with that, martial and M.U's current contract is valid until the summer of 2019. M.U still wants to tie his striker but does not use him often. This could be a price-picking move by the "Red Devils" for any team that wants to own Martial.
The reason Barca need such a young player urgently is because they have run out of patience with Ousmane Dembele. The young French striker moved to Nou Camp for 105 million pounds but has not shown much, suffered serious injuries, missed half a year and clearly declined his form. Dembele is on the loan list and the "Giants" need a replacement.
In addition to Martial, Barca still do not forget Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann. Along with that, they approached Fulham's 17-year-old striker Ryan Sessegnon. If there is a successful "cast-off" season, the strikers of the Nou Camp team will have many options, instead of just relying on Messi as at present.
Anthony Martial is considered M.U's most successful signing under Louis Van Gaal. He arrived at Old Trafford from AS Monaco for £36 million in September 2015.
