On the night of February 18 (ie, the 2nd day of the Binh Ngo Tet 2026), Tan Tuc Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police - PC08) set up an alcohol concentration checkpoint at the Le Kha Phieu - Dinh Duc Thien intersection (Binh Chanh commune).
During the inspection, the working group discovered and made records of handling many violations.

The first case is Mr. T.T. H (born in 1977, from Vinh Long). The test results showed that Mr. H violated the alcohol concentration at 0.204 milligrams/liter of breath (not exceeding 0.25 milligrams/liter of breath).
Working with the traffic police, Mr. H said that in the morning of the same day, he came from his hometown to Ho Chi Minh City, on the way to visit friends. "The brothers sat about 5-7 people, drank and sang karaoke. I thought I was still sober to drive," Mr. H presented.

The male driver admitted to knowing clearly the regulation "if you have drunk alcohol, do not drive", even a small amount can still be fined. However, due to subjective psychology and difficulty refusing invitations during Tet, he still drove the vehicle.
Next, the working group discovered that Mr. N.M (born in 1974) violated the alcohol concentration level at 0.767 milligrams/liter of breath, exceeding the highest threshold of 0.4 milligrams/liter of breath according to regulations.

In addition, Mr. M could not present a driver's license and vehicle registration certificate. For the above violations, Mr. M was issued an administrative fine. For the highest level of alcohol concentration violation, a fine of 9 million VND was imposed.
The working group also announced the temporary seizure of the vehicle because the violator did not meet the conditions to continue driving the vehicle when there was alcohol concentration in his breath.
Initially, Mr. M requested to get his car back to drive home on his own. However, functional forces explained that the temporary seizure of the vehicle was mandatory to ensure safety for the violator himself and other traffic participants. After being clearly explained his rights and obligations, Mr. M signed the administrative violation record.

In another case, Mr. N.V.H (born in 1980) was also found to have violated the alcohol concentration at 0.214 milligrams/liter of breath.
According to the Traffic Police Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police), implementing the plan of the Traffic Police Department (C08, Ministry of Public Security), from 10 am on the 1st day of Tet (February 17), the entire city's traffic police force simultaneously deploys a thematic alcohol concentration test.
In addition to this topic, working groups strengthen the handling of other violations such as speeding, going in the wrong lane, carrying more people than prescribed,... to proactively prevent and reduce traffic accidents during Tet.
