Persistent injuries have continued to hinder Murray from winning titles in his career. Concerns about that continue to grow as the 2018 war in Australia is approaching.
His hip injury came in June when he played at the French Open. The situation became more serious, causing the Scot to be eliminated in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon. Murray invited a colonel of experts to visit for the fastest recovery without requiring surgery. However, the signal he received was not really positive.
Murray's coaching staff said the UK No. 1 plans to travel to Australia before Christmas and hopes to participate in the Brisbane tournament starting from January 1, 2018. Brisbane will be the perfect warm-up for Murray towards the Australian Open in mid-January. However, that plan was delayed as Murray's hip has yet to recover after returning from the Miami Open.
Despite having trained with manager Jamie Delgado, Murray is still not on the list of doubles players at Brisbane. It was a reasonable option for Delgado for a player to return from injury, but for Murray personally, he was still very cautious.
Mr. Murray was able to play in November. That was a performance with Roger Federer in Glasgow for a charity fund named after the 30-year-old tennis player. Although Murray's passes are very flexible, they still lack the necessary accuracy and force.
With injury concerns still in place, Murray will have to consider delaying his trip to Australia. Even whether he can participate in the 2018 Australian Open or not is still something Westerners cannot be sure about. Although he really wants to participate in a tournament before the first Grand Slam of the year, all plans will have to be put on hold if his body does not allow it.
Not only is Murray affected by injuries, but Stan Wawrinka and Milos Raonic have also withdrawn from next week's friendly matches in Abu Dhabi for the same reason. Wawrinka still does not feel ready to return as soon as he has undergone knee surgery.
