The end of the year is always a special time for Vietnamese sports, when the "National Outstanding Athlete and Coach" election is held as a way to look back at the past achievements.
This year, the event enters its 47th time, continuing to gather a diverse list of nominations from sports, federations, and national sports associations, in parallel with the participation of experts, especially reporters and journalists following high-performance sports.
In the 47th nomination list for "National Typical Athlete", many prominent names have made a clear impression.

Trinh Thu Vinh is one of the brightest faces of Vietnamese shooting. At SEA Games 33, the shooter born in 2000 won 4 gold medals and broke 3 Games records, affirming his number one position in his forte events.
Not only stopping at the regional arena, Trinh Thu Vinh also maintains stable form at international tournaments, becoming a pillar of the shooting team in the journey towards the Olympics.
In athletics, Nguyen Thi Oanh showed the class of a leading athlete in the region. Despite starting to adjust her competition strategy and proactively giving up the 1,500m playground to her juniors, Oanh still brought important gold medals in the 5,000m and 10,000m distances at SEA Games 33.

In swimming, Vo Thi My Tien is one of the names that left many impressions. The swimmer born in 2005 won a total of 9 medals of all kinds at SEA Games 33, including a gold medal in the 4x1,500m open water relay.
Previously, My Tien also won 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals at the 2025 Asian Championships, showing clear progress in expertise.
Also in the group of young athletes, Nguyen Thuy Hien (2009) attracted attention when she appeared in the nomination list.
Meanwhile, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien is a typical representative in the gymnastics team. With medals won in regional and international arenas in 2025, Xuan Thien shows endurance and stability.
Besides the athletes, the nomination list of typical national coaches in 2025 also shows the clear mark of "silent architects".
Mr. Kim Sang-sik is one of the prominent faces when directly leading the Vietnamese national teams to win the ASEAN Cup 2024, U23 Southeast Asia 2025 and SEA Games 33 gold medals.

In addition, coach Mai Duc Chung continued to make his mark with the women's team when winning a silver medal at SEA Games 33 and a bronze medal in Southeast Asia, affirming the role of an experienced and persistent coach.
In swimming, coach Nguyen Hoang Vu was nominated thanks to his impressive achievement when he and his students won a total of 6 gold medals at SEA Games 33, along with outstanding results at the Asian Championships and regional tournaments.
Athletics recognizes the great contributions of coaches such as Nguyen Thi Bac and Tran Van Sy, who directly coached athletes who won many gold medals at SEA Games 33.
In martial arts, coaches Duong Hoang Long (karate), Bui Dinh Tien (jujitsu) or Nguyen Van Hung (pencak silat) are highly appreciated for helping the Vietnamese team achieve heavy achievements at the regional and continental levels.
