Becamex TPHCM officially said goodbye to V.League 2025-2026 after the emotional final round, closing the sad journey of one of the most traditional teams in Vietnamese football.
At home on the evening of June 7, coach Hua Hien Vinh's team defeated Hoang Anh Gia Lai with a score of 3-1. Bui Vi Hao opened the scoring very early before Viet Cuong and Oduenyi scored more goals in the second half. The Mountain Town team only got a temporary equalizer thanks to Gia Bao.
Despite winning all 3 points in the final match, Becamex TPHCM still could not decide their own fate. In the matches at the same time, Da Nang heavily defeated Dong A Thanh Hoa and PVF-CAND also surpassed Song Lam Nghe An. These results caused Becamex TPHCM to officially be relegated when the season ended with 24 points.
This is a regrettable ending for the team once considered "Chelsea Vietnam" thanks to its strong financial potential and the period of domestic football dominance. In the past, Becamex Binh Duong - the predecessor of Becamex TPHCM - has won the V.League 4 times in 2007, 2008, 2014 and 2015.
The team once owned many outstanding national team players such as Anh Duc, Trong Hoang, Cong Vinh or Tan Truong, and also repeatedly represented Vietnam to participate in Asian arenas. They were once a major force of the V.League with a powerful playing style and blockbuster contracts.
However, after many seasons of decline, Becamex TPHCM no longer maintains its inherent position. Instability in the force, unstable form and fierce competition in the bottom group make this team pay the price with a relegation ticket.
Becamex TPHCM's farewell to V.League leaves many regrets for fans, because it is not only a team with many achievements but also a symbol of a period of strong development of Vietnamese professional football.
