On June 6, information from the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province said that the unit has issued a document conveying the direction of the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to the Department of Agriculture and Environment and related units and localities requesting inspection and verification to clarify the content of information that Lao Dong Newspaper has reflected.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper published articles "Calfstone mine causes pollution, people live in anxiety" and "Recommendations sent out, but pollution from the limestone mine is still there".

The articles reflect the current situation of mining and processing activities at stone mines belonging to Mai Thanh Transport and Trading Co., Ltd. (located in Tuyen Hoa commune), 207 Joint Stock Company (located in Nam Ba Don commune), Minh Cam Mineral Joint Stock Company and Dai Phuc Song Gianh Construction Co., Ltd. (Tuyen Binh commune) for many years, causing environmental pollution by smoke and noise, disrupting life and affecting the health of surrounding households.
Although people have repeatedly sent petitions to all levels, the pollution situation has not been thoroughly resolved. Immediately after the newspaper mentioned it, implementing the spirit of strengthening discipline, order and proactively resolving arising people's livelihood issues, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province has transferred the reflected articles to the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and closely coordinate with departments, branches, units and localities directly involved to conduct specific inspections at the site.
The Provincial People's Committee requests to resolutely and strictly handle violations of the law on environmental protection (if any) by limestone mine owners in accordance with regulations. At the same time, the results of inspection and handling must be reported in writing to Lao Dong Newspaper and reported to the Provincial People's Committee before June 8, 2026.
According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Tri province has coordinated with the Nam Ba Don commune government to verify information; in addition, Tuyen Binh commune has also inspected the current status of stone mines in the area that reflect the process of operating causing pollution.
