On the evening of June 8, the Vietnam women's volleyball team won their second consecutive victory at the AVC Nations Cup 2025.
Against Taiwan (China) - the strongest opponent in Group A, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team easily defeated them with a score of 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-17).
According to post-match statistics, opposite Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen was the top scorer for the Vietnam women's volleyball team with 23 points (including 2 blocking points), achieving an efficiency of up to 70%.
It is worth mentioning that the Vinh Long athlete has just returned from injury. Before the AVC Nations Cup, Bich Tuyen suffered a back injury and was out of training for 10 days. However, after returning to competition, the 2000-born setter immediately shined.
In addition, in the opening match against Hong Kong (China), coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet proactively saved Bich Tuyen's energy, so he only played for 1 half. She still scored 7 points with an efficiency of 40%.
Talking to Lao Dong, Bich Tuyen said: "Regarding the performance in the last match, I assess that I could only show about 70-75%. Some aspects of the technique are still not very good.
Before the tournament, I suffered a minor injury to my back and was treated by doctors. Currently, the recovery rate is about 90%. My goal in this year's tournament is to successfully defend the championship with my teammates".
Returning to the recent match against Taiwan (China), in addition to Bich Tuyen, the main striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy scored 19 points (1 blocker point, 1 ace point) with an efficiency of 56%, the second highest in the Vietnam national team.
Nguyen Thi Uyen also had a fairly stable performance with 11 points (1 block point, 3 aces) and an efficiency of 38%.
The Vietnam women's volleyball team will have 2 days off before the match with India on June 11.
