Many memorable milestones in 2024
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team had a busy first half of 2024. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team participated in 5 international tournaments including AVC Challenge Cup, FIVB Challenger Cup, SEA V.League, Future Stars (friendly) and VTV Cup.
Bich Tuyen and her teammates kicked off their 2024 campaign by participating in the AVC Challenge Cup 2024 (in the Philippines) in May and winning the championship. This is the second time in history that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has achieved this result.
This championship helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team qualify for the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024 in July. Here, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team once again created a buzz when they won 3rd place at the official volleyball tournament organized by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
Next, the Vietnamese girls successively had more results as runner-up in the 2nd round of SEA V.League, 5th place in Future Stars (friendly) and runner-up in VTV Cup to close out the 2024 professional year at the end of August.
At each tournament, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team creates its own mark, contributing to affirming its position on the continental and world map.
In particular, the most memorable milestone in 2024 is that Vietnamese women's volleyball team will have their first ticket to the 2025 World Championship. This ticket opens up opportunities for female players to step out into the "big sea", compete and enjoy the atmosphere of the world's highest level tournament for national volleyball teams.
It can be seen that although the number of international tournaments that the Vietnamese women's football team will participate in in 2024 is much less than in 2023, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team still ensures the goal of professional achievements.
Prepare for new goals
The Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) has prepared a professional schedule for both the Vietnamese men's and women's teams in 2025. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet continues to receive trust to lead the national women's team.
The coach born in 1976 once expressed that he and his colleagues are always waiting for the Department of Sports and Physical Training and the VFF to make the most effective investment with long-term goals for women's volleyball. At that time, the opportunity to increase expertise will be more promising.
The two important goals of the Vietnamese girls in 2025 are the 33rd SEA Games and the world championship. Both tournaments will be held in Thailand.
With the SEA Games, Thailand is still considered the biggest and most dominant rival in the Southeast Asian region. Opponents Indonesia and the Philippines have also shown that they are gradually narrowing the obvious professional gap with Vietnam.
"The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has the best players. The coaching staff also has the best professional preparation for the players. The 33rd SEA Games will not be easy to compete with.
In previous years, when playing against Thailand, Vietnam was destined to lose, but now, despite the absence of captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, we still have impressive sets.
I hope that if we have the strongest squad, with the service of striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vietnam will be ready to compete fairly with Thailand at the 33rd SEA Games taking place in Thailand in 2025," Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet once shared.
With the recent progress from both the club and national team levels, this will be an important basis for experts and fans to expect positive results from the Vietnamese women's volleyball team at the Congress taking place at the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the world championship will mark a historic milestone for Vietnamese women's volleyball in the world arena. Certainly, with the goal of competing to gain experience and practice, the female players will have a comfortable spirit to show their best, leaving an impression in the eyes of international friends.
