Thanh Thuy's competition plan
Recently, the Indonesian Volleyball Federation announced the entire plan to organize the 2025 Indonesian National Volleyball Championship (ProLiga).
Accordingly, ProLiga 2025 will feature 7 women's teams and 5 men's teams. The women's teams include Jakarta Electric PLN, Jakarta Popsivo Polwan, Jakarta Pertamina Energi, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk (Thanh Thuy's team), Bandung Bjb Tandamata, Jakarta Livin Mandiri and Yogya Falcons.
The 2025 season will consist of 62 matches in Rounds I and II, 24 matches in the knockout round and 4 matches in the final round. The tournament will be held in 10 major cities in Indonesia: Bandung, Pontianak, Kediri, Malang, Surabaya, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Solo, Palembang and Gresik.
Vietnamese fans are looking forward to the performance of striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy in Gresik's shirt. The detailed match schedule will be announced by the organizers in the next few days.
National Championship has not yet finalized a plan to change the competition format
A representative of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation said that the national championship has not yet finalized a plan to change the competition format, so it is almost certain that the organization of professional competitions in 2025 will proceed as in 2024.
This means that the tournament will still be held in phase 1 at the beginning of the year and phase 2 at the end of the year. In 2025, the tournament will be held throughout the year and will not extend beyond early 2026 as planned.
It is known that the Vietnam Volleyball Federation has calculated to build a new competition format for the 2025 season, but many teams have consulted and commented to the tournament organizers to calculate appropriately and not apply the new organization method.
Teams need a year to prepare and adapt to the season's competition format. In addition, management units will calculate more carefully in reporting plans for volleyball.
Vietnam's opponent stopped at the world tournament
After LPB Ninh Binh (Vietnam) stopped at the 2024 World Club Volleyball Championship, Asia has 2 representatives left: Tianjin (China) and NEC Red Rockets (Japan).
With a 0-3 defeat to Imoco in the final match of the group stage, the door to the semi-finals for NEC Red Rockets has been completely closed. Despite bringing the strongest squad to the tournament, the Japanese representative still could not meet the expectations of the fans.
Meanwhile, host Tianjin are performing well. They have won all three group stage matches and are the only Asian representative to reach the semi-finals.
