Nguyen Thi Trinh tries her hand at a new position
In recent training sessions of LPB Ninh Binh, coach Thai Thanh Tung unexpectedly tested middle blocker Nguyen Thi Trinh in the opposite position.
This adjustment comes from the injury of key setter Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen right before the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
The absence of an important hitter like Bich Tuyen has caused Ninh Binh's squad to face many difficulties, especially in attack.
In the context of the force being disrupted, the coaching staff was forced to come up with new options to stabilize the squad. Nguyen Thi Trinh, with extensive experience and flexible ball handling skills, is expected to take on a new role well, although this is not her forte.
The female athlete born in 1997 is likely to become the main opposite setter of the ancient capital team in the upcoming decisive stage. This transformation also shows LPB Ninh Binh's efforts to adapt and spirit in the journey to conquer the championship this season.
