The friendship between the people of Vietnam and the Russian Federation will develop better and better

The long-standing traditional friendship between the two countries has, is and will continue to develop

On the afternoon of October 1, Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) met with the Russian delegation to attend the first Vietnam - Russia People's Forum.

At the meeting, the opinions of the delegates all expressed their dedication and high responsibility to promote the relationship between the two countries and specific areas of cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the people of Vietnam, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien expressed his respect and deep gratitude to the authorities and people of Saint Petersburg for their special feelings for Vietnam and the inauguration of the President Ho Chi Minh Monument in Saint Petersburg; and expressed his sincere thanks for the warm welcome of the Russian government and people to the Vietnamese delegation, especially the visit of General Secretary To Lam to the Russian Federation and Saint Petersburg.

President Do Van Chien emphasized that more than ever, the generation of Vietnamese people who have lived and studied in Russia always remember the wholehearted and wholehearted help of the former Soviet Union and now the Russian Federation in the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

The long-standing traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia has been, is and will continue to develop. In July 2012, Vietnam - Russia agreed to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership, the highest level in the friendly relations between the two countries and peoples. Implementing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, proactiveness and active, comprehensive, extensive, responsible and effective international integration, Vietnam always attaches importance to developing relations with Russia, as well as with Saint Petersburg.

President Do Van Chien also highly appreciated the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for proactively coordinating with the Saint Petersburg Foreign Affairs Committee to organize the first Vietnam - Russia People's Forum. This is a very meaningful activity, contributing to deepening the friendship between the people of the two countries and proposing many new directions for people's diplomacy.

Through the statements of delegates attending the meeting, Mr. Do Van Chien deeply felt the affection of the Russian people for Vietnam and for this Vietnam - Russia People's Forum.

"An old friend is better than a hundred new friends"

Mr. Do Van Chien shared that in 1986, implementing the renovation policy, at that time Vietnam was one of the poorest countries in the world. After 40 years, Vietnam has now ensured food security, becoming one of the world's leading rice exporters. And now, Vietnam has ranked 32nd as the world's largest economy, in the group of 20 countries with the largest trade globally. People's lives are constantly improving. By 2025, Vietnam will complete the goal of eliminating all temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households nationwide.

To date, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 193 countries around the world, including building comprehensive strategic partnerships with 13 countries, and is an active member of more than 70 organizations around the world.

Mr. Do Van Chien stated that Vietnam is currently entering a new era - the era of national growth; building a solid position of people's hearts and people's absolute trust in the leadership of the Party and the State. This is clearly demonstrated by the radiant faces of the people across the streets of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City when they watched the parade, the Marching athletes celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

Mr. Do Van Chien said that according to the new organizational model, Vietnam has just successfully implemented the work of arranging the organization of the political system according to the model of local government at 2 levels, rearranging the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State, in which the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations operates under the Vietnam Fatherland Front; at the same time, he hoped that the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations would promote its role and mission, connect, and propose to effectively implement cooperation activities between the people of the two countries and social organizations of the two countries.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front has a noble mission: Gathering all classes of people, classes, and social classes to consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized and said that the enthusiastic and responsible opinions of the Chairman of the Saint Petersburg Foreign Affairs Committee and delegates related to cooperation in trade, science and technology... will be reported by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to competent authorities and included in appropriate policies. Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien believes that on the basis of 75 years of friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, as well as the people's friendship between the two countries will increasingly develop well, trust, support each other in the cause of building and developing the country, improve people's lives, as the saying of the famous saying: "A hundred years of friendship is better than a hundred years old friendship of the Russian Federation".
