Vietnam men's volleyball team still ranks above Thailand
The results of the first leg of the SEA V.Cup 2026 held in the Philippines were not scored by FIVB's world rankings for participating teams.
This means that the performance results of 6 teams (Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines) in the first leg of the SEA V.Cup 2026 will not be increased in points to change the world ranking.
On July 19, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team lost to Thailand 1-3 in the bronze medal match of the first leg of SEA V.Cup 2026.
However, we are still ranked higher than the Thai team. The Vietnamese men's volleyball team is ranked 63rd in the world and the Thai men's team is ranked 67th.
The last time the Vietnamese men's volleyball team gained points on the rankings was in July 2025 (phase 2 of the SEA V.League 2025).
The last time the Thai Men's Volleyball Team changed their ranking points was in June 2026, when they participated in the AVC Cup 2026.
On the current FIVB world rankings, the Indonesian team is ranked 44th, the Cambodian team is ranked 125th and the Philippines is ranked 95th.
Huyen Trang brothers reunite
Secondary player Nguyen Huyen Trang of the Binh Chung Thong Tin youth women's team had the opportunity to meet her brother Nguyen Dang Duy at the 2026 National Youth Club Championship being held in Ninh Binh.
Huyen Trang played for the Binh Chung Thong Tin youth women's team at the tournament while Dang Duy was a player of the Hanoi youth men's team.
Recently, Huyen Trang was an official member of the Vietnam U18 Women's Volleyball Team that competed in the U18 Southeast Asian Championship and the 2026 AFC U18 Championship in Thailand.
She is considered a promising setter player of Vietnamese women's volleyball at this time.
Dang Duy and Huyen Trang have participated and been selected for the talent line of the Hanoi youth men's and women's volleyball team.
However, after that, Huyen Trang decided to resign to find an opportunity to take the aptitude test at the Information Corps team.
She has been admitted and trained at the Youth Team of the Information Corps since 2023.
