Over the past two years, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has continuously participated in international tournaments, from regional to continental and world tournaments such as SEA Games, SEA V.League (Southeast Asia), AVC Challenge Cup, ASIAD 19 (Asia) or FIVB Challenger Cup (world).
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team also achieved some remarkable achievements, such as SEA V.League runner-up for 2 consecutive seasons, SEA Games 32 silver medal, AVC Challenge Cup champion for 2 consecutive years, 4th place at ASIAD for the first time, and most recently, 3rd place at FIVB Challenger Cup for the first time in history.
Closing a successful 2024, Vietnamese volleyball continues to aim for new goals next year. Notably, Bich Tuyen and her teammates will participate for the first time in the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in August 2025 in Thailand.
Here, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has the opportunity to compete with major powers such as Türkiye, Germany, Brazil, Serbia, the US, Canada... or some strong Asian teams such as Korea, Japan, China, Thailand.
Of course, it is very difficult for Vietnamese volleyball to create a miracle in this playground, because the opponents are all very strong and have names on the world volleyball map. However, this is an opportunity for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team to assert themselves in a big tournament, not only by the results but also by the image and confidence when "swimming out into the big sea".
For talented players like Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Pham Thi Nguyet Anh, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh... this is also an opportunity for them to demonstrate their abilities and make their mark, opening up opportunities to go abroad if they catch the eye of foreign clubs. Or at least, each athlete has the opportunity to compete, gain experience and perfect their skills.
Besides the national team tournament, this September, LPB Ninh Binh club will represent Vietnam to participate in the 2024 Asian Club Volleyball Championship, as the reigning 2023 national champion.
LPB Ninh Binh is expected to have a good performance to aim for the championship, like the way the Vietnamese team (with the name Sport Center 1) won the championship 1 year ago.
In particular, at the 2024 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, the two champions and runners-up will qualify for the world tournament - FIVB Women's World Champs 2024, scheduled to take place next December.
The current LPB Ninh Binh club squad includes key players such as Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Dinh Thi Thuy, Luu Thi Hue or young players such as Ton Thi Minh Thu, Duong Thi Yen Nhi...
In preparation for the tournament, coach Thai Thanh Tung and his team will soon have a training tour in China. This will be a valuable experience for LPB Ninh Binh as they have the opportunity to compete before entering the continental arena.
Thus, some players such as Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, and Le Thanh Thuy will be able to participate in international competitions at both club and national team levels.
