On September 14, Khanh Hoa Sports Technical Training Center disciplined coach Nguyen Ty of the U17 team and coach Dang Dao of the Khanh Hoa U19 team by forcing them to quit their jobs.
Before being forced to resign, the Inspector of this Department concluded that the violations of Mr. Dang Dao and Mr. Nguyen Ty, as head coaches, had intentionally abused their positions and powers, causing losses to the State budget and embezzling part of the athletes' wages and meals.
Up to now, the two coaches have returned the illegal amount as concluded by the Inspector of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nhuan - Director of Department of Culture and Sports confirmed: Up to now, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police have worked with the Department Inspectorate regarding the violations of Mr. Dao and Mr. Ty.
The Department is collecting documents to send to the police for further processing steps.
Decide on player payments
According to the conclusion of the Inspectorate of the Department of Culture and Sports, at U17 Khanh Hoa, the athletes' practice timekeeping was directly checked by Coach Nguyen Ty. Meal and salary regimes were also paid to the athletes through bank accounts and cash like U15.
However, Mr. Ty kept the athlete's ATM card and password, withdrew money, paid for meals, wages and spent on group activities. The inspector concluded that Coach Nguyen Ty directly signed to receive money without the athlete's authorization, and kept the athlete's ATM card and ATM password, which were all against regulations.
According to the signed training contract, training is on all days of the week, except Sunday. But in 2021, 2022 and 2023, there are many months when U17 only trains from Monday to Friday every week.
Coach Nguyen Ty's work on Saturdays caused a loss of more than 61 million VND to the state budget. In addition, there were 2 athletes who were given time off from training by Mr. Ty but did not propose to the Director of the Center to terminate their labor contracts, and still kept their training list to receive wages and food allowances, causing a loss of more than 122 million VND to the state.
The same situation also happened at U19 and U21. The U19 coach alone kept the players' wages and food money. Also by keeping the cards and passwords of the two players, the U19 coach kept 315 million VND in wages and food money even though the two players had stopped practicing.
