On December 31st, a press conference for the Vietnam International Half Marathon 2026 - sponsored by Herbalife - took place in Hanoi.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation shared: "The Vietnam International Half Marathon aims to spread the spirit of jogging, especially on the first day of the new spring. The race is an opportunity to exchange culture, introduce the image of Vietnam to international friends, contributing to promoting economic potential.
The Athletics Federation aims to organize Vietnam's No. 1 semi-marathon tournament, invite the Asian Athletics Federation to supervise and invite international athletes from other countries to participate.
Currently, the Organizing Committee has conducted measurements of the race track, ensuring parameters, meeting international competition standards. Through the tournament, the organizing committee will deduct 5% of the money from selling BIB to contribute to the fund to develop the Vietnamese jogging movement".
Mr. Hung said that the Vietnam International Half Marathon 2026 gathers many athletes of the Vietnamese athletics team who have just returned from SEA Games 33 such as Nguyen Thi Oanh, Nguyen Trung Cuong or Hoang Nguyen Thanh, Doan Thu Hang, Luong Duc Phuoc...

This year's tournament will take place from early morning on January 1st, with a starting and finishing point at Thien Quang Lake (Hanoi, with distances of 21km, 10km, 5km and sports family events, attracting 7,000 athletes to participate.
One of the notable points is that the total prize value increased from 550 million VND to nearly 600 million VND, along with adjusting the competition structure to increase the experience for athletes.
