According to information from the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), President Nualphan Lamsam met with the Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand to express his apology for the incident of displaying the wrong flag.

On the afternoon of October 30, Ms. Nualphan Lamsam (commonly known as Madam Pang) - President of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) went to the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok to meet Mr. Pham Viet Hung - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Thailand.

Ms. Nualphan presented a bouquet of flowers and apologized to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Vietnamese people after the incident of displaying the wrong national flag at the draw for the 2025 U19 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship held on October 28.

At the meeting, Chairman FAT expressed his understanding of the reactions of Vietnamese fans, affirming FAT always respects national symbols and attaches importance to maintaining the friendly relationship between the two countries. She said that the above incident was an unexpected mistake from the organization and hoped to receive sympathy from the Vietnamese side.

Ambassador Pham Viet Hung acknowledged FAT's goodwill in handling the incident. Previously, FAT sent an official apology letter to the Vietnam Football Federation and the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF), and sent Mr. Adisak Benjasiriwan - Vice President in charge of futsal and beach soccer to Hanoi to directly meet the VFF leaders. VFF leaders have also received an apology letter from the Football Association of Thailand.
