Historical first
Up to now, Vietnamese volleyball has never had two teams participating at the same time at the Asian Club Championship for men and women. This year, we have been given the opportunity by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) to have two representatives participating. They are determined to compete to build their brand image and the brand for Vietnamese women's volleyball.
The 2024 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship is the last international tournament that Vietnamese women's volleyball will participate in. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has completed its professional mission in 2024, now it is the tournament at the club level. However, if we succeed in the 2024 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, it will be a historic milestone as the first time a Vietnamese team (at the club level) has achieved success in the Asian arena.
Last year, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won the 2023 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship with the Vietnamese women's national team. Everyone is waiting for a club-level team to create an image for our volleyball in particular.
Need to take advantage of the opportunity
The brightest star of Vietnamese women's volleyball at present, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, has been registered by LPB Ninh Binh team to participate in the 2024 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship. This is the first time Bich Tuyen has participated in this tournament. In 2024 (up to now), Bich Tuyen is the most effective player of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. When she competes successfully with her club team, LPB Ninh Binh, Bich Tuyen's professional value will certainly increase even more.
The hitter from Vinh Long has shown her best performance in every tournament and is the player who scores the most points for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. Now, the hitter needs the most to compete abroad. When Bich Tuyen competes abroad, our hitter has more opportunities to assert her position.
The two teams of Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals and LPB Ninh Binh currently have national players such as Tran Tu Linh, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Le Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Trinh... Besides them, there are a number of other players who all have their own expertise. It is important that any of them can make an impression from this tournament to create opportunities for themselves to find an invitation to play abroad.
Thai women's volleyball recorded that in 2024, more than 23 players of the national team signed contracts to compete abroad. Each of them has the opportunity to improve their skills. Most importantly, they will create an image for Thai volleyball.
Now, Vietnamese women's volleyball also expects the same. We have 14 best players who are members of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, but only the main striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is playing abroad.
All the players of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, when returning to their home teams, are key players in their teams. Therefore, it is not easy for their home teams to accept their long-term overseas competition. Each team wants to ensure their results in the domestic tournament in Vietnam. Therefore, this is one of the difficulties that not many Vietnamese women's volleyball players have the opportunity to compete abroad.
The two teams, Hoa Chat Duc Giang Lao Cai and LPB Ninh Binh, are the most outstanding representatives of Vietnamese women's volleyball in terms of expertise. Each unit has its own training goals, but above all, it must ensure results. However, the players who compete in the 2024 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship are the most important "test" in terms of expertise.
The representative of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation said that regardless of which team competes, they all carry the image of Vietnamese volleyball and the managers always expect the players to achieve the best results. We are looking forward to the best results from the players of these two teams in this year's Asian tournament.
