According to Lao Dong, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh will become the second Vietnamese women's volleyball player to compete abroad in 2025, after captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.
This time's destination is Yogya Falcons - a rookie team of the Indonesian National Championship (Proliga). This is a tournament that is considered to be competitive and of top professional quality in Southeast Asia.
Currently, details about the contract have not been announced by Yogya Falcons club or Vi Thi Nhu Quynh's management unit. However, according to the study, the two sides have reached the necessary agreements and provisions.
At the age of 23, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh is at the peak of her professional strength. With a height of 1m75 and the ability to score comprehensively on the entire 2nd wing, behind the 3m line and serving the attacking ball, she is considered one of the most promising strikers of Vietnamese women's volleyball.
The first half of 2025 was a strong breakthrough for Nhu Quynh when she played outstandingly for Vietinbank (under a loan) and then was loaned by VTV Binh Dien Long An club to participate in the 2025 Asian Club Championship. At this tournament, she made a great contribution to helping the Vietnamese representative win the continental runner-up position.
At the national team level, in the past 3 years of reaping many impressions of Vietnamese women's volleyball, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh is also an indispensable name in every tournament and is always highly appreciated.

Behind the invitations from many international teams, the choice of Yogya Falcons shows that Vi Thi Nhu Quynh is ready to face a big challenge. Because this is a team that has just joined Proliga and was at the bottom of the table in the 2025 season with 9 losses.
A harsh environment with few advantages over teammates will force Nhu Quynh to shine by herself if she wants to affirm her position. With his talent, fans believe that Nhu Quynh will have the opportunity to play regularly and show himself.
However, opportunities always come with challenges. If she adapts well, this will be a turning point to help Nhu Quynh improve herself, both in terms of technique and competitive thinking. Experiences in harsh tournaments such as Proliga - where many quality foreign players are gathered - can become a valuable luggage for her to mature, thereby contributing back to the national team in the near future.
On the other hand, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh also needs to be careful not to get into the old case of Thanh Thuy. In 2023, Thanh Thuy played for Gresik Petrokimia in Indonesia but did not achieve the expected success. If counting the official playing time (7 matches), Thanh Thuy only had about 1 month playing football in Indonesia.
At that time, Thanh Thuy's early departure from Indonesia was largely speculated to be due to the environment not being suitable for the playing style as well as the physical strength of the main striker born in 1997 not fully recovering from injury.
The experience from Thanh Thuy herself will be a valuable lesson for Nhu Quynh to better prepare physically, mentally and integrative skills.
The fact that more and more Vietnamese athletes are competing abroad is a positive signal, showing that the country's women's volleyball is integrating strongly. But more than a trip abroad, the most important thing for Vi Thi Nhu Quynh is her courage to turn opportunities into a career platform.
