Preliminary list of women's teams participating in the world tournament
The homepage of the 2025 World Volleyball Championship has officially announced the preliminary registration list of 32 participating teams. The Vietnam women's volleyball team registered 16 athletes with the addition of striker Dang Thi Hong.
The list includes Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Dang Thi Hong (main attack); Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh (opposite setter); Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Pham Thi Hien (middle blocker); Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Vo Thi Kim Thoa (second blocker); Nguyen Khanh Dang, Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh, Luu Thi Ly Ly (beroli).

At the 2025 World Volleyball Championship, Vietnam is in Group G with the participation of the teams of Poland, Germany and Kenya. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet will finalize the official list of 14 athletes before leaving for Thailand to participate in the tournament.
The tournament will take place in Thailand from August 22, 2025 to September 7, 2025. The group stage matches will be held in 4 cities of Phuket, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima and Bangkok.
Long An men's team changes name
The Long An men's volleyball team will change its name to the Tay Ninh men's volleyball team and participate in the second phase of the 2025 national championship. Despite changing the new name, the team still maintains the same coaching staff and squad, continuing to ensure professional competition with the highest spirit in the tournament.
This year, the Long An team (old) has 1 win and 4 losses, standing in 7th place after the first stage of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship. Leading the team is head coach Pham Phuoc Tien.
Women's team's opponent in the quarter-finals
The Vietnamese women's team is participating in the Shanghai Future Stars 2025 friendly tournament in China. At the end of the group stage, the Vietnam women's volleyball team got 6 points after 3 matches. Coach Ngoc Hoa's team won the French youth team 3-0, lost to U21 China 0-3 and won U21 Bauru 3-1.
According to fitness expert Karl Lim, the Vietnam women's volleyball team will face U21 Canada - the second-placed team in Group B.
According to this expert, the whole team is very confident in aiming for a victory against Canada when in the Vietnam squad there are players with extensive playing experience.
Currently, the coaching staff has set a mandatory task for the players to defend firmly, take a good first step to win a ticket to the semi-finals of the tournament.
