On July 15, before entering the 4th day of the PBC Indonesia 2025 10-a-side international billiards pool tournament, all players, referees, organizers and fans observed a minute of silence to commemorate player Chang Jun-lin. The memorial service took place in a solemn atmosphere at the stadium in Jakarta.
2012 8-a-side World Pool champion Chang Jung-lin passed away suddenly after the first match of the tournament. According to information from the Taiwan Billiards Federation (China), he felt unwell and returned to his hotel to rest. He did not participate in the next match and was found dead at the hotel on July 14.
On the homepage of the World pool Association, the organization sent its gratitude and commemoration to Chang Jung-lin. According to the announcement, he is considered a dedicated, modest and passionate athlete, with an influence beyond his professional field. The Association also emphasizes that the values he left behind will continue to live in the every blow of future generations.
Many of the world's top players have also shared their personal feelings after the incident. Snooker Joshua Filler (Germany) wrote on social media that he "couldn't believe this sad news" and called Chang "a friend, a great opponent and a real legend".
Shane Van Boening (USA) expressed his deep regret, emphasizing that he always admired Chang's fighting spirit and polite attitude on the pitch.
Snooker Ko Pin Yi (Taiwan (China) shared that Chang is not only a close teammate but also a great inspiration for himself as well as many other athletes in Asia.
