The 1-0 win over Morocco yesterday helped the Portuguese player score another individual record as he became the best international striker in Europe with 85 goals, surpassing Hungarian legend Ferenc puskas.
At the age of 33, it is unclear whether Ronaldo will catch up with the world's best international striker because Ali Daei of Iran has scored 109 goals in 149 international matches.
Here are Europe's top strikers
CRISTIano RONALDO - 85 goals, 152 matches
At the age of 18, Ronaldo made his debut for the Portuguese national team in the match against Kazakhstan in August 2003. It was not until Euro 2004 that he scored Seleccao's first goal against Greece in the group stage.
To date, Ronaldo has scored 5 hat-tricks, including the recent 3-3 draw with Spain, and scored 4 goals in 1 match.
FERENC PUSKAS - 84 goals, 89 matches
It is a pity that puskas could not win the World Cup after their Hungary lost 2-3 to West Germany in the final in 1954.
In return, he was one of the players who helped Real Madrid dominate Europe in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1962, puskas became a Spanish citizen but did not score any goals.
SANDOR KOCSIS - 75 goals, 68 matches
Hungary is not a one-man team because in addition to Puskas, there is Sandor Kocsis. Kocsis scored 11 goals at the 1954 World Cup but Hungary still lost to West Germany in the final.
And like Puskas, he went to Spain but played for Barcelona.
MIROSLAV KLOSE - 71 goals, 137 matches
Klose scored his first goal for Germany against Albania in 2001 and in 2014, he surpassed Brazil's Ronaldo to become the best striker in the history of the World Cup with 16 goals. That year, Germany won the World Cup.
GERD MULLER - 68 goals, 62 matches
Muller has a good scoring efficiency, helping West Germany win the World Cup 2014. At the 1970 World Cup alone, he scored 10 goals and if counting the World Cups, this number is 14 goals.
