Daniil Medvedev confidently advanced to the final against David Goffin after eliminating world number 1 Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. "The Russian bear" had an impressive start when winning the white game. He continued to overwhelm the opponent with powerful passes and quick attacking play.
The 23-year-old tennis player had a break in game 4 after Goffin made a double pass. Medvedev quickly launched a dangerous left shot to end the game. Despite losing the break to their opponents, Goffin persistently won the break in game 7.
Set 1 had to enter the tie-break. Medvedev promoted his ability to pass the ball with a superior weapon from the right hand to win 7-3.
In set 2, the game was tense as both teams were still playing with concentration. However, Medvedev took the lead at the right moment in the key eight game and then maintained stability to win 6-4.
With a perfect win after 1 hour and 41 minutes, Medvedev won the ATP 1000 for the first time. The 23-year-old also became the youngest person to win the Cincinnati Masters since Andy Murray in 2008.
