On October 19, members of the Vietnam Weightlifting Team (including Dinh Phuong Thanh) officially competed in the 2025 World Championship in Jakarta (Indonesia).
The athletes of Vietnam's gymnastics equipment at the tournament include Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien, Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Dinh Phuong Thanh, Do Nam Anh, Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu, Le Thi Thanh Phuong. Among them, Dinh Phuong Thanh is a veteran and experienced face of the national team.
The competition will last until October 25. On the first day, the Vietnamese figure skating team will compete in the qualifying round and we are in the group with the teams of Croatia, Sri Lanka, England, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Namibia, Brazil, Jordan, and Austria.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese gymnastics team aims to have a face to reach the finals of some singles events at the tournament.
In June this year, the Vietnamese gymnastics team won a silver medal (Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu) and a bronze medal (Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien) at the 2025 Asian Championship.
According to the assessment, the Vietnamese players are in stable form. However, the 2025 World Championship brings together all the world's top athletes, so winning a place in the finals will not be easy.
At the tournament, Southeast Asia's No. 1 player, Carlos Yulo (Philippines), participated. Recently, the Philippine Sports Federation confirmed that Carlos Yulo will not compete in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
