From the perspective of a manager, Mr. Bui Trung Thien - in charge of the gymnastics department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) - affirmed that the Vietnamese gymnastics team has an Asian-class face and has enough opportunities to develop well if invested. Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien and Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu are the ones mentioned.
They participated in the 2025 National Championship and won the Gold Medal. This year, Khanh Phong won the Silver Medal in the suspension round at the 2025 Challenge Cup. Xuan Thien won the Gold Medal at the 2025 Challenge Cup and the Bronze Medal in the horse event round of the 2025 Asian Championship. Quynh Nhu won a Silver Medal in the women's anti- dancing event at the 2025 Asian Championship.

Be careful when competing
The Vietnamese gymnastics team is aiming to win at least two Gold Medals at the 33rd SEA Games this year. It is expected that Vietnamese athletes will participate in all men's and women's events at the 33rd SEA Games. At this time, the Vietnamese gymnastics equipment team will not train abroad.
Mr. Bui Trung Thien said: "We will create conditions for athletes to participate in international tournaments to accumulate experience before coming to Thailand. Currently, 10 core athletes are preparing for the 33rd SEA Games. However, the coaching staff will decide the final list before going to Thailand.
In the three most recent SEA Games, the Vietnamese gymnastics team won Gold Medals, including three Gold Medals (SEA Games 30), four Gold Medals (SEA Games 31), and four Gold Medals (SEA Games 32).
All achievements come from male athletes. For the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese figure equipment team is confident that it will be successful in the women's event because we have athlete Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu starting successfully in the Asian arena.
