On October 19, Khanh Hoa Forest Protection Department requested its affiliated forest rangers to strengthen inspection and strictly manage facilities for raising common wild animals, endangered, precious and rare wild animals and species in the CITES Appendix in the area.
The Department also requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to strictly perform the function of state management in the forestry sector, especially supervision of farming, planting and trading of wildlife and forest plants.
This move was made after recently, in Khanh Hoa, wild animals such as parrots and crocodiles have continuously appeared in residential areas and in the natural environment, causing concern for people.
Khanh Hoa Forest Protection Department requested local authorities to step up propaganda and dissemination of laws on biodiversity conservation, encourage people not to hunt, trap, buy, sell or arbitrarily raise or raise endangered, precious and rare wildlife and plants.
When there is a need for farming, planting, organizations or individuals must notify the People's Committees at the commune level, veterinary agencies and forest rangers to be instructed on registering the basic code, legal origin records, as well as ensuring environmental and veterinary conditions.
Localities are responsible for receiving and verifying information about injured, stink-off, or sick animals; organizing release into the natural environment or transferring them to conservation facilities according to regulations.
The Department also requires households and organizations to open monitoring books, report changes in livestock species, and at the same time review records and ensure eligibility according to regulations.
Facilities that do not have farming and planting codes must urgently complete the dossier requesting the issuance of codes; forest rangers are responsible for checking, guiding and strictly handling violations.
In October 2025, many cases of wild animals appearing in residential areas in Khanh Hoa have caused panic among people.
On October 8, a resident was attacked by a crocodile, causing injuries on the Cho River through Dien Lam commune. The authorities later caught the crocodile.
On October 14, at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hospital, medical staff discovered a nearly 2m long crossbow in the hallway at midnight.
On October 17, people discovered another python about 2m long, weighing more than 5kg, lying on the top of a tree in the Nha Trang Tourist Port area. The crossbar was surrounded and handed over to the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward.
