Professional urban legend Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Gene Bollea, passed away at his home in Clearwater (Florida), at the age of 71.
According to international media reports, Hogan suffered a heart attack early in the morning. Although he was taken to Morton Plant Hospital for emergency treatment, he could not survive.
Local police confirmed that this was a natural death, with no signs of suspected criminal acts or unusual causes at the scene.
On social network X ( Twitter), WWE issued a notice confirming Hogan's passing, expressing deep regret: "Hulk Hogan is a global icon, one of the most influential figures in WWE history. He contributed to bringing professional urban artifacts to new heights in the 1980s. WWE would like to express our condolences to his family and fans around the world".
Notably, just two days before his death, Hogan's health was still described as stable. Jimmy Hart's close friend once shared that Hogan is recovering well from complicated neck surgery and has shown no signs of abnormality.
Over the past decade, Hulk Hogan has faced a series of serious injuries from the peak of his career, including at least 10 major surgeries in the back and neck.
He once frankly said: "I have completely replaced my knee joint, the nerves in my back are gradually losing their sensation. My body is eroded after years of fierce competition."
However, he has maintained a healthy lifestyle and regularly attended WWE events until early 2025.
