The award ceremony took place in Suwon (South Korea) after the AFC Women's Champions League 2025-2026 final between Japanese team Tokyo Verdy Beleza and North Korean representative Naegohyang FC.
The Fair Play Award is considered a recognition of the sportsmanship, competitive spirit and professional behavior of the Ho Chi Minh City women's club throughout the tournament. This is also a noteworthy mark of the representative of Vietnamese women's football besides the professional achievements achieved at the continental level.
In the group stage, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club was in Group A with Melbourne City (Australia), Stallion Laguna (Philippines) and Lion City Sailors (Singapore). Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi's team played hard to win second place in the group, thereby winning a ticket to the quarter-finals.
Participating in the group of 8 strongest teams in the AFC Women's Champions League continues to show the progress of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club as well as Vietnamese women's football in recent years. Not only improving professional competitiveness, the team also built a positive and professional image in the eyes of international friends.
Although stopping in the knockout round, the journey of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club in the AFC Women's Champions League 2025-2026 still leaves many marks. The Fair Play Award is expected to add motivation for the Vietnamese women's football team to aim for higher goals in international arenas in the future.
