Before coming to Vietnam, coach Amin Al Suneini and his team had gone through a thorough preparation period. The team will train in Marib city (Yemen), then go to Fujairah (UAE) for training and friendly matches. The results of these friendly matches are kept secret to ensure professional secretion.
In the list of registered players to participate in the qualifiers, U23 Yemen only has one player playing abroad, goalkeeper Muhammad Ramadan Shuey Jumaan (Saudi Arabia). The remaining 22 players are all playing for domestic clubs.
The three notable faces in the attack of U23 Yemen are Abdulaziz Masnoum, Qassem Al-Sharafi and Hamza Mahrous. These are the players who have just been named in the Yemen squad for the FIFA Days series in June 2025 against Bhutan and Lebanon in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. In particular, 19-year-old striker Hamza Mahrous impressed when he became the number 3 choice in the national team's attack.
Immediately after settling in, U23 Yemen will enter their first training session at Phu Tho training ground to prepare for matches in Group C.
