Group A has the Philippines (host), Taiwan (China), Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Australia, and Uzbekistan.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in the tournament as the defending champion. Through the times they have played, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has won the tournament for 3 consecutive years from 2023 to 2025.
This year, the Philippines Women's Volleyball Team is the host of the AVC Cup 2026. However, this team is facing difficulties because many players suddenly announced that they will not participate in the National Team gathering because the Philippine Volleyball Federation does not ensure good regimes.
Currently, new head coach Tai Bundit only has about 12 players in his squad preparing for the AVC Cup 2026. Philippine players who participated in SEA Games 33 will not return to the national team this time.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team of 2026 has not been established yet. Head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is expected to propose a roster for training at the end of May.
Currently, many Vietnamese women's volleyball players are participating in the VTV9 - Binh Dien Cup 2026 in Tay Ninh from May 15 to May 23. After this tournament, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will have preliminary training forces.
AVC Cup 2026 is held from June 6 to June 14. Therefore, it is likely that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will only train 14 players in the first training session.
